Hey Honey, What Day Is It?

How many times have we all been asked that question? Well, here is a fantabulousmous way for you to always know what day it is! I absolutely love this, as you can tell by my urge to make up words to describe it! Haha!

How cool is that? The idea arose out of the creator’s original site, The Human Clock, which started in 2001. You can watch the actual clock here ==> Human Clock.

This site is so funny! It has a “Nag-o-Meter” on the bottom, which is right now telling me:

The earth has already pulled a gnarly 5.3 degree turn in the time you’ve spent here….dude

A few minutes ago it said something like:

You’ve been here 15 minutes, that’s great. Just stay longer.

It doesn’t look like I can put the Human Clock on my website, like I did with the Human Calendar (in the sidebar for next time your ‘honey’ asks you what day it is!) but, I’m completely amazed at the sheer numbers of pictures he deals with. He was congratulating one guy for having submitted 644 pictures! Wow! So he gets tons of pictures and he keeps track of how many each person has sent! Impressive!

Now that we all know what day it is, let’s get on with it, shall we? The day, that is…

CozmoTV Widget A Great Way To Spread Amy Poehler’s New Show

Amy Poehler is creating a wonderful new show that celebrates girls for just being themselves! Amy has teamed up with some of her friends to make the show and it is called, “Smart Girls at the Party” and the tag line is:

Amy Poehler, Meredith Walker and Amy Miles celebrate girls who are changing the world by being themselves.

In each episode, Amy interviews girls and talks to them about some of the cool things they are doing in their lives. This is one sorely-needed show! You know what it makes me think of? You know those Dove commercials and videos? Actually, I think this was just an online video – but, it was a video of what we, as girls and women, are bombarded with from the time we are very young about beauty and body image. Completely, totally eye-opening video. And every time I watch it, I think, ‘I wish there was more of this.’ To me, that’s exactly what Amy’s new show is – more of that positive, uplifting, you-really-are-amazing-just-as-you-are message that is contained in each and every Dove ad and video. I love this! I can’t wait to show my daughter this show! I think they should show them in schools. And no, don’t split up the girls and boys so the boys don’t have to watch. The boys need to learn that, too! They might need to learn it more than the girls do! (Now don’t make me get on a rant about that!)

Here, watch the video and see what I mean about how great it is!

And the super cool thing is that they have paired up with Cozmo.TV to help the thing go viral like hotcakes! The widget provided by Cozmo.TV is really handy. You can easily embed the video onto your own blog or onto quite a few different sites quite easily just by clicking “Grab this TV”. They even have Squidoo on there and that is one of my very favorite social media sites! That’s awesome!

You can also easily email the widget to your friends and family by clicking on the button that says, “Share with Friends”. You can join the Cozmo.TV site from the widget and then save the video as one of your favorites. You can even watch other channels on Cozmo.TV from the widget and there are some really good ones! I watched a ‘book tv’ one about an author who was a Holocaust survivor and now I’m totally putting that book in my Amazon wishlist. And I saw that they even have Animal Planet on there, which is one of my very favorite channels on TV!

I think it’s just really cool that Amy Poehler’s new show, “Smart Girls at the Party” has such an awesome chance to go super viral using the Cozmo.TV widget! You can get your own widget here and help spread some badly needed feel good vibes for the young girls out there!

Why Does YouTube Want to Look Like Viddler?

I’ve been singing Viddler.com’s praises for a long time now. I really like their service. It is so much easier for me to upload my videos there and I really like the embedded videos’ capabilities on my blog. I think the main reason I like their embeds so much better is when you go full-screen, they are still clear and crisp videos.

So YouTube.com released some updates to their site one day last week – and the first thing to cross my mind was – “Hey! They look like Viddler now!”

I wonder what’s up with that. Could they really feel threatened by Viddler? With the unbelievable amount of traffic that YouTube has, I can’t imagine that they would. I actually got to test the traffic differences around Halloween.

Sammie had produced, directed, and acted in a video and I uploaded it to Viddler. In a few days, she had eight views. I then uploaded it to YouTube – and in a few HOURS – she got eight views. That’s a major difference.

I’m still a Viddler fan, traffic or not. I like YouTube, for sure, and I’m not writing it off completely. I use both of them from time to time. Viddler is my favorite, though.

And maybe, like me – YouTube sees the value and ‘popularity climbability’ that Viddler possesses.

Now check out what I’m saying about the similarities. Here’s Viddler.com homepage:

And here is the new YouTube.com homepage:

Now isn’t that interesting? Hmm….

Lynn and Lisa Sittin’ In a Tree….

(Click to biggify.)

Uh…yeah…Lynn and I have been talking a lot lately! Ha!

I stumbled onto the Twitter Grader this afternoon and I, being the self-centered me that I am, checked my score. I got a 94, not too shabby. And then, further with the self-concern, I wondered how I compared to Lynn Terry’s score. I put in her name and clicked ‘Get My Grade’ and went to other windows bee-bopping around, doing other things, while I waited. When I finally went back to that window – before I could even notice her score – I saw it! Lynn is completely obsessed with me! There’s no denying it! It’s all there in black and white! Burnt orange and white! Whatev!

Hahaha! I’m just kidding! Lynn and I have known each other for a number of years – well, she’s been on my radar, anyhoo. I’m frequently wearing my slacker-gear and I joined her forum eons ago (in internet-speak) and never freaking posted!

Maybe, just maybe, had I posted – she could’ve been even more of an inspiration to me and I’d be further along in my quest to make a living from home. And maybe I wouldn’t have gotten so completely sidetracked by paid blogging. Though it was totally kick butt at the time, it was surely not any kind of lasting business model – for me. And I completely dropped every other thing I was doing. I did learn a lot and meet a lot of rockin’ people and forge some awesome relationships (personal and business) so it wasn’t a total wash. I do feel like time was wasted, though.

But, I digress – this post is about Lynn being in love with me. Oh yeah. See, she has this free webinar every Tuesday morning – just for me! Seriously – go read the page! Go on – click it! You’ll see – it says it right there in that post – this is for Lisa. Yep. Yeppers.

And she makes up catchy new phrases like “Rank and Tank” just for me to use! And then she makes nice long posts to explain them thoroughly – to me!

Alright, alright, I’m just razzin’ ya again! But let me tell ya something she does do for me. And I imagine for a lot of other people, too. I mean, she teaches me a lot, sure. But sometimes she reaches straight through the computer screen and touches. my. heart., effectively adding fuel to the fire I already have burning there. You know the fire – that fire I have to succeed at this thing called ‘online business’.

So Lynn, thank you! Even though I probably won’t be leaving my husband for ya anytime soon (ya never know – it could happen)! Thank you for teaching me (and all of us that learn from you) so much!

What the heck happened?! This was supposed to be a ‘givin’ Lynn grief’ post and it turned into another ‘Lynn Terry Lovefest’. Man! (Sorry, davebo, or whatever your name is – I guess Lynn’s good nature just brings it out in us – even when we’re trying to give her a hard time!)

Wordle.net ROCKS!

Someone on Twitter that I follow tweeted this very cool and extremely addicting site, Wordle.net. For the life of me, I can’t remember who it was that tweeted it, but, I know it was a guy that lives in Dallas. I’ll figure it out eventually.

Look at the awesomely cool things you can make there!

Isn’t that cool? Most people are using a TON of words, but, I’ve never really been one to play ‘by the rules’. My own beat and all…

Here’s one I made with my main sites on it:

I am going to use my Vista snipping tool to grab that one for my Twitter profile. I could seriously spend HOURS there messing around! I love that site! My only critique is that I had to fix the spacing in the coding to make it work on my blog. Otherwise, I freaking love this site!

If ya’ll make some, tell me about it in the comments and tell me where I can see yours! :)
