The other night my youngest son and his friend were reminiscing about our old church. We moved to a new building when my son was four. Anyhow, I interrupted and asked them what they remembered. One of the things my son mentioned was “that cool phone on the wall that had the dial thing.”

I had B/W TV and dial phones and manual typewriters! So much fun thinking about all that old stuff! I remember in 12th grade when my mom got me my very own PORTABLE electric typewriter!! Man, I thought I had the coolest thing EVER!!!!! Hahaha! And I still say ‘album’ – the kids understand me, know what I mean, and just go on with it. LOL

I was reading something recently that went through these and many more gadgety memories – it was wonderful!!

Reading this made me remember dial phones. Have your kids seen a phone with a dial? Do YOU even remember the dial phones? And, despite the push buttons do you/they speak of “dialing a number?” I think we continued to use that expression that well past the advent of push button phones.

Now, going further back memory lane, though you may have had a B&W TV, I’m wondering if you remember TV before color? And, then, when there were only radios.

What about manual typewriters? Have your kids ever seen one? I still have my first Smith Corona portable typewriter in the closet.
