Burger King Customer Service FLOP!
Seriously – baby feet. What warm-blooded human can resist little baby feet? With their little ‘peas’ for toes and their uber soft, sweet adorableness…
That’s one thing I really, really miss about when my kids were idget widgets. Ooooh, their feet! I would love on those little feetsie weetsies ALL. DAY. LONG.
My boys just about never wore shoes their entire first years. Sam did, only because, we found these oh-so-cute little baby girl shoes that I just had to get on her feet! They never stayed on for very long at a time, though.
Well, apparently, there is a manager at a Burger King in St. Louis, Missouri – who can do just that – resist baby feet. And then some! This dude actually threatened to call the police on the mother of a SIX MONTH old baby, because, the baby wasn’t wearing shoes. The mom had been told, at first, that she could order ‘to go’, but that then she would have to leave, because the baby was violating their ‘No Shoes. No Shirt. No Service.’ rule. WTF?!
Yes, I’m serious – check it out:
Obviously, as any smart company would be, Burger King Corporation was upset with the way a guest was treated in one of their stores. And as well, the owner of the franchise, was upset, and has offered an apology to the customer. But it seems that the damage has been done already. The internet is all-a-hullaballoo about it, you know? This won’t, I’m sure, have quite the same effect as the “Wendy’s finger (non)incident”, but, with the word of mouth that spreads faster than lightning these days, largely thanks to the internet – brands have a lot to watch out for to keep themselves ‘out of the dog house’, so to speak.
This was all about one dorky dude who made one stupid move. The BK Corp. didn’t agree – the franchisee didn’t even agree. So it all boils down to the one dude. But the brand still gets a beating.
The absolute best way for brands to deal with these things is FAST. It’s been shown over and over again in the recent months/years. I can’t find any other references to it online, but, the above video does say that apologies were offered to the customer – and it seems it happened rather quickly.
With an issue like this one, once the mommy bloggers get a hold of it – you’re toast.

WTF!?!? Seriously. My kids rarely had shoes on when they were babies and not one store or restaurant owner ever said a word about it. Heck I’ve taken the babies out to eat in just a onsie! No pants, no shoes, just a onsie and a bib. Who wants to mess up all those cute baby outfits with food goop! LOL
[...] my RSS feed and follow me on Twitter. Thank you for visiting!I read this story this morning over at Lisa’s Hippie Spelunker blog, and I thought it was worth repeating. It’s so absurd and ridiculous that I still can’t [...]
I know, right! It’s completely insane, really!! Sammie wore shoes more (and earlier) than the boys did, just because we had some uber cute little girly shoes – but, really, my kids were barefoot at least for the whole first year! Geez!
customer service should be put first with any kind of business;;`
That’s for sure!
