Subconscious: Why Lisa, how on earth will you whittle it down to only seven?!

Lisa: Shut up, Sub! Leave me alone and let me blog! Gah!

Anyway, my buddy, Donna that Dazzles, tagged me for this meme “Seven Odd and Interesting Things About Me”. While it is true that she tagged me back in oh, about, 1992 – and while it is true that my subconscious might be onto something …here it is:

Number 1. I sit funny. I’ve been doing it for a very long time. And my mother’s been telling me to stop it for a very long time. However, I continue. It just comes naturally. I cannot help it. So there.

Number 2. I have a bent finger from holding my pen incorrectly for …uh….33 years? or whenever I began to hold pens. I would guess that’s probably pretty much age five. Whenever I’ve gone to get fake nails put on, the lady who is doing the job gets frustrated with me, because, my second finger nail bumps into my third finger nail if my nails are long. So funny! I’m a weirdo!

Number 3. The ‘Day of the Dead’ mask (or whatever it is) on the top of this post has absolutely nothing to do with this post. Zemanta just showed it to me right as I was starting this post and I liked it. I’m image-crazy. So I guess I sorta miss web designing of the 90s. Yeah, it’s true – I said it. I miss the graphic-laden, ‘graphic for the pointer’ web design of 1998! So there! (Yeah, I had a graphical pointer! What about it? Wanna make something of it? What? You wanna see it? Ok, ok – go RIGHT HERE! Bwahahaha! Hey – I thought it was cute! And …shhh! That was 2004! Eeeps!

Number 4. Kristi McNichol was one of my girl heroes when I was a kid. I completely looked up to her. Or …who I thought she was, I guess, from the characters I watched her play. I wrote her a letter one day and my mom help me get it sent off to her. I had childhood hope that I would – for sure! – hear back from her! Or at least get some form response letter. I don’t think I did. My mom can help me with this one, though. The cool thing I remember about it, though, is that my mom said that my letter was so smartly written that it was better than most of her employees could have done! Now, either she had a bunch of knucklehead employees ….or I was simply brilliant! Simply brilliant sounds pretty good to me! I just remember the pride I felt when my mom went on and on about how nicely written my letter was! That was better than any ol’ form response letter any day! Even if it was from Kristi McNichol or her staff!

Number 5. Just like DazzlinDonna, I have ‘purple issues’. You can go to any of these sites and see it on display:

  1. Lisa Marie Mary on YouTube
  2. Lisa Marie Mary – the blog
  3. Lisa Marie Mary on Twitter
  4. Original Hippie Spelunker – on Blogger
  5. This site, somewhat!

And who knows where else I’ve gone ‘purple coocoo’! I didn’t even realize I was doing it for a while! Just like in high school when I was wearing pink all the time. My friends kept saying that to me and I, who was hell-bent on being ‘tuff’ and so not girly-girl, didn’t believe them for the longest time. Then I began to take better notice of my pink-in-all-shades-laden wardrobe! LOL!

My 14 year old son is purple crazy with me, too! We would love to paint a wall or two (or three) dark purple, but, for some odd reason, the family laughs at us when we say it! And we have a Purple Store here in town, that we’ve yet to visit, after living here three years! I keep telling him – ‘we’re going to go in there someday’! The whole building is painted purple and it says in big purple letters on the top of it “The Purple Store”. Groovy!

Number 6. Oooh, ya’ll are going to love this one! Ha! One of my favorite things to eat, especially when I’m feeling blue – is ….. rice, mayonnaise, and salsa! Yumm! I love it! And – it’s not my fault! An old friend of mine got me into it. His family ate it every day, with every meal, as their side dish. It didn’t matter what they were serving – this was one of the side dishes! And it grew and grew on me! Served with a nice, cold glass of Vanilla Silk Soymilk – delish! Here are some delightful pics:

Number 7. I’m a total weirdo when it comes to eating candy bars. I have to take them apart, section by section. I’d say ingredient by ingredient, but, that doesn’t really make sense. Let’s use Twix as an example – I eat all of the chocolate off first, then I eat the caramel off of the cookie, and then I eat the cookie! I gross my husband out when I do this, but, it’s some strange compulsion and it just makes the candy bar that much more enjoyable for me! I do this with Twix, Snickers, Kit Kats and even the TagaLong Girl Scout Cookies! I felt like the only one in the world that knew the progression of the different pictures on the cookie part of Tagalongs, which made me feel kinda special – lame, I know, but hey – I never claimed to be one of the cool kids. I’ve actually had a twisted sense of pride for not being one of the cool kids. On the other hand, though, it also made me wonder – why did they bother with pictures on the cookie – that was under peanut butter – that was under chocolate!

Now that I’ve finally finished this meme with which I was tagged in 1992 ;) – I get to inflict it on others. Bwahahaha!

I would love to learn seven weird things about:

Loretta Oliver
Natalie Akpele
Traci Knoppe
Lisa Wood
Julie Vazquez
Dana Coffey
Eve Lester

Wow, I tagged a bunch of chicks. Didn’t intend to do so – ah well, have at it ladies! :)
