Right there with ya… the 14 year old is way taller than me now – like 4 inches taller at 6′3″! And the 11 year old is almost equal in height to me according to the redneck eye check. Makes me sad. Yet proud, too.

Wow – six foot!! I know Pat will get there, most of the guys in the family are that tall, on hubby’s side. There is some ‘tallness’ on my side – just not as much as on hubby’s.

I really, really have to go drag out that picture of him that is flashing – and staying stuck like glue – in my mind, ever since this rotten, horrible discovery! LOL!

@Annie – My 13yr old wishes this would happen to him!! His turn hasn’t come up in the growth-spurt line and he’s very upset about it! My daughter, too, but, she doesn’t seem to be as upset about it. That’s pretty cute that your stepson is obsessively asking all those questions!!

Same thing happened here this summer. 13 y.o. stepson shot up and for a while his father and I blamed the shoes. You know, those flat-footed skate shoes kind of have about a – what, 3″ lift in them?

But we have Officially Measured, barefoot, and sure enough, the boy is taller than both of us. It’s horrifying.

For him, this is now a huge topic of discussion. How many tall people on dad’s side? On mom’s side? Do we think he’ll get over 6′? What if he just stopped growing right this minute? (Yes, he really asked that. I told him it would only happen if he stopped EATING right this minute).
