Flock Eco Edition for Earth Day
I just downloaded the Flock Browser: Eco-Edition and I love it! I’m so excited about it! Today is, after all, Earth Day – no better day to discover such a simple way to not only give back, but, stay on top of all things Eco-conscious happening around the world! Now I don’t really know if their launch of this version was planned specifically for Earth Day, as it looks like people have already been using it. I happened to find it on Earth Day and I think that’s really cool.
The Eco Edition is really cool, because, it comes with all kinds of eco-news already loaded into all the cool feeds that Flock is known for having. Flock is the ‘social browser’, made to accommodate those of us who are heavily into social networking on the internet. It is also very handy for bloggers, as you can blog right from your browser, if you would like. One of my favorite things is that you can drag and drop stuff from one place to another with Flock. If there’s a really great picture that I come across and I really want to share it with my dad, all I have to do is drag it into an email and send it to him. I love that!
This new edition has all the great features that we’ve come to know and love from Flock, and they have partnered with all kinds of eco-friendly websites, and their feeds come automatically loaded into the ‘My World’ tab. One of my favorites that they’ve partnered with is Treehugger.com. I love that site! And now I’ve got lots of news from them in my face when I open my browser!
The other thing I notice right away is the accounts in my Flickr feed (called ‘Favorite Media’ in Flock) that are all about the earth and the environment. I find it really quite interesting – there’s lots of good stuff for me to blog about without even looking for it. And I’ll easily find lots of cool stuff to share with my mom, my eco-buddy/mentor.
And look how pretty Hippie Spelunker looks in Flock Eco!

Another super cool thing about it is that at the end of the year, Flock is going to donate 10% of their search revenue to charity. What charity? That’s the coolest part – they are letting all of the users of the Eco-Edition browser decide which charity gets that money!
I’m sure there is way more about the new browser that I’m missing. When I stumble on other cool features, I’ll be sure to share it with you here!

**SUPER GROOVY UPDATE** I meant to say this and I forgot! This is so cool! The refresh button …is the recycle symbol! I love it! (Yahoo’s O’s are recycle symbols, too! Groovy on them, too!)

Very cool and eco like
I like it.
I know, isn’t it cool?
And I’ve got links to TreeHugger, Grist, Green, and Planet Green right up at the top! Awesome!
Your blog puts all the others to shame! I have added you to my favorites list!
