Look people, if you’re going to have the gall to try to scam me through my email - could you please at least SPELL things correctly? Would it hurt? Damn creeps need to just stay the hell outta my email anyway!
Watch out, everybody - be super cautious when reading emails! Don’t just click links automatically - I know we’ve been told this again and again, but, as it’s still happening (the emails) - they must be getting somebody with their nefarious email misdeeds! And that, in turn, means that the warning bears repeating, as well!
And I am more than happy to do that, and include a copy of the make-your-eyes-bleed-with-misspellings email!

Do you think, though, that they could at least learn to spell? I’ve highlighted their hideous misspellings - and isn’t it so funny that ‘misspelling’ is one of the most often misspelled words? I just love that! Haha!
Oh, and the ‘link’ they want me to click does NOT go to the URL you are reading on the page! It is actually linked to some stinkin’ fiestasdeoctubre site…hmmm… very strange, indeed! You’ll notice in the pic below, they wanted the email reader to go to some barbeque site! (You can click on the pic to see it a little bigger, or you can click on her name [miss604] to see it even bigger on her Flickr account. Thanks, Miss604!)

With much love,
The Suspicious Hippie
P.S. Oh yeah - and always forward them to the PayPal fraud department - whose email address escapes me at this time. Anyone want to remind me? scam@paypal.com? no… *scratches chin*

1I’ve also started seeing the tax refund scams coming through. You know, the IRS really doesn’t send everyone emails telling you a) how much you’re due as a refund and b) that you need to click the enclosed link to verify your bank account info.

2You can also tell, something in the choice of words, that English is not their first language. So not only is it a scammer, it’s probably a foreign scammer. Which doesn’t really matter–a thief is a thief no matter where from. It’s just an interesting data point.

3The more technologically advanced we become, the worse we get at spelling. You’d think that they could at least use spell-checker LOL

4Hi,
I get lots of scam emails for jobs, I think because my resume is posted on Monster, Careerbuilder, etc. and those creeps are getting my email from job sites, seeing see me as a target. Question: Can’t I respond to their scam job solicitatiosn with “If you think you’re so smart you can fool Americans, learn how to speak English…and your email has been forwarded to the authorities.” I realize this threat isn’t legitimate but I want to at least try to throw mud at them since they continue to take advantage of naive, down on their luck Americans. I guess the question is: Is it unsafe for me to reply to them? Does it hurt anything?…I’m not giving them personal information, just telling them off. Thanks!
