Well, I’ve been tagged for the ‘five things’ meme by Genki Girl - thanks, mama!
Let me see now…
1. I always wanted to be a truck driver and I am sickly obssessed with trucks of all kinds and even large machinery - there is something so incredibly sexy about a humongous piece of equipment! HAHAHA! No, but, really - I mean that - I swear I do- it was an accidental, but fitting, funny-funny, but, I just love those big machines - and I do think they’re sexy! - it was really great all those years that my boys were obssessed with construction vehicles and we watched every construction movie ever made - multiple times! (whose blog has a pic of their kids in front of the big tire? Genki, was that you? that will be funny if it is you, since you’re the one that tagged me! well, that was one of my favorite videos…about those giant trucks, I think we still have that one, too) And we had to stop at all the cool construction sites - and my family would call me up….”Lisa, there’s a giant grader near my house, quick! Bring the boys!” LOL It was so much fun!
2. I can belch SUPER LOUD! (My family always loved that!)
3. One of my nicknames as a kid was ‘Animalisa’ - I loved it!!
4. The woods are my ‘church’. I was truly blessed, in that my folks couldn’t afford a ‘regular daycare’ and so every summer I was sent to YMCA day camp (which was held in the woods) for the whole summer - and it was there that the foundation for my spiritual life blossomed. (Not that I knew that then.) You know, it’s funny how upset we get when we ‘can’t afford something’ - and I cannot begin to tell you how different my life would be without that experience! I think I’ll remember that next time I ‘cant’ afford’ something for my kids!
5. My husband has a gorgeous, and studly, and manly— fancy and pretty ‘99 F250….and I miss his ‘78 F150….because of the sound it made - rumbly rumbly old truck - I would get frisky when I would hear him pull into the drive - EVERY time! His ‘new’ and purdy one is oh-so-quiet…aww….drat! Also, along those lines - he bought me a ‘98 Nissan Quest…very nice van, it has been good to us - very little, almost no, trouble with it. But I miss my ‘77 Delta 88 - her name was Bertha - and she was the greatest!!!
Ok, so there you have it. Now it’s my turn to tag!
I tag: Super-Mommy, Devilish Southern Bell, Brainfizzles, Momgadget, and Casual Keystrokes

They are evil! Pure evil!
Ok, maybe it’s not that bad - but, geez louise! Mark and I sure got into trouble with them!
I had always told him before we ever got one that he and I would be terrible with credit cards - I just knew it!
But then, you get that first one…and it is so damn exciting! And then - they raise your limit….wooohooo! And then you get another one….alright!
It’s so addictive…and you feel like, “Oh, we only have to pay the monthly minimum, it’s cool - we can handle this. No problem. Let’s just buy one more thing…” Or, “let’s just pay one more bill with them.” Or, “let’s just buy groceries with it this time.” …ad nauseum!
And before you know it, you are sunk - completely sunk.
If we pay off our credit card debt before we die, I will be amazed.
And the rotten thing is, they just keep sending you more…and more…and more cards!
It’s compound doom! We really should have gotten some credit card advice straight from the beginning and maybe we could have avoided some of the compound doom we launched ourselves into!
In keeping up with credit card news, I definitely can see that we are not alone in this nightmare of debt! And that makes me feel a little better - like we’re not the only ones who got sucked into this hell, you know?
I hope and pray that we can one day get out of it.

Thank you so much, Optics Planet - for sponsoring the previous post and getting me geared up (mentally, that is!) for Geo-Caching again!
I’m so excited! (I know, I said that already - but, dammit - I am!) I forgot how much I love this sh*t!
It was originally Mark’s hobby, and then he got the kids and I into it…and then he bought me my own GPS - and then he quit playing, for some reason. He still likes it, he just gets busy with work, and the little R&R time he does have, he goes hunting.
I’ve been meaning to start up again here in Alabama - I keep saying I’m gonna…
And you know how that goes! LOL! I even got the durn GPS out - set it on my dresser, and then never got to it.
I used to carry it with me at all times, just in case - you might be near a good cache while you’re out. Hee-hee But the durn thing was making my purse too heavy - along with the other million things in there, that is!
Anyhoo, gosh! I’m so disjointed tonight - I’m not sure what my problem is. I know what I want to say, but, it’s not really coming out very smoothly like it usually does. So sorry.
So I went outside with my purdy GPS, and marked the waypoint of my house - I had to call it ‘Home2′ - since my TX home is still in there… And we are 638 miles from that home, as the crow flies. Awww….
Then I found two really great caches, in two of my favorite places in this town - how cool! They’re definitely not my only favorite places, just two of the ones I really like. I marked their waypoints, as well.
And tomorrow - my brother is coming in town for a short visit - and I have our afternoon all mapped out! Heehee!
First we drive by the elementary school, to show him the kids’ school, then we swing back around to the town cemetery (one of my favorite places) to catch a cache, then we swing back around to the high school, to show him the other kid’s school, then we head on out to a wandering, meandering country road that Grandma and the kids call rollercoaster road (my other favorite place) where there is an old bridge over a creek with a cache hidden nearby - then, hopefully - if we have time before the monsters are due home (I use that phrase a lot around here lately..heh) we can swing over to the MIL’s place and introduce him to the horses.
I suppose, if we didn’t have time - we could pick up the monsters and then go back over there.
I had really wanted to take him over there last time, and didn’t get to.
He said he’d be here by 12 or 1pm - he just better hurry - we’ve got a tight schedule!

Isn’t it funny how MUCH time one can spend window shopping in this day and age?
With all of the shop windows right here on my home computer - geeeeez! I spend way too much time ogling and oohing and aaahhing!
I’ve just spent a fair amount of time on a site called OpticsPlanet.net and I was going to come and tell ya’ll about how I could easily, easily shop for my husband, my father, both of my brothers, both of my sons, and even my mother, the birder, on that site!
Until I noticed that they sell meade telescopes ! Oh yeah! See, I love Geocaching! And although I don’t really need a new GPS, I could sure use some of these lovely GPS accessories!
But I guess I’m not really supposed to be shopping for myself!
So I could go back to shopping for my boys - they are really wanting a new telescope, and the meade telescopes look nice! You know, though - my brother bought them one a few years ago…and they broke it! So maybe, I should just get this GPS accessory pack for me!!

…that is fast-forwarding these school days lately???
I was doing so well today - really feeling accomplished and all…
And now I look up — and it’s already almost TWO O’CLOCK!! What?
That basically means I have one hour left of good, productive time - quiet time!
This is happening a lot lately - I look up and BOOM - the kids are due home!
And I still have so much to do! Dang me! Dang me!
My brother is coming in town tomorrow and there is a whole lot more cleaning I wanted to do…
But I’ve got to get to Wal-Mart and the post office…
And I still have to do my PayPerPosting, and I wanted to do some ChaChaing
Aye aye aye!
Well, I better get outta here quick so I can get back before Patrick gets home!
Geez!
